WORKSHOP OVERVIEW
Prerequisite: On Course I Workshop
At the On Course I Workshop, you learned
strategies for empowering students to become active, responsible learners. In
this advanced workshop, you'll not only add to your repertoire of
student-empowerment strategies, you'll also learn to design and deliver
learner-centered educational experiences that help students move from
superficial to deep learning.
These advanced design and facilitation skills
will also give you the knowledge and resources to help your colleagues provide
more effective educational experiences for their own students.
The skills you will learn are drawn from best practices in academic
curriculum design, brain research, learning styles, active-learning
principles, corporate training methodology, and personal development strategies.
If you want to help students become active,
responsible learners and/or you want to take a leadership role in helping your
college or university become more learner-centered, this is the
workshop for you!
